The Cortijo Sierra Castril bed and breakfast is owned and run by Bruce and Janice Jardine.

Bruce has gained qualifications in hill walking, rock climbing and caving, as well as an Hons degree in Outdoor Education.

Janice has spent her entire working life working with people in residential setting and has great experience of looking after people and managing accommodation.

The Sierra Castril is known as a great place to unwind and explore. The grounds of Cortijo Sierra Castril are perfect for those who are seeking tranquility away from the fast pace of the modern world. It is the perfect place to relax with a good book, or take in the great views whilst watching eagles drift by overhead.

There are a number of swimming pools in the nearby area. The closest being in Castril, about a 1.5 km walk down from Cortijo Sierra Castril. It is open all summer and costs approximately €2 for entry for the whole day.

For the more adventurous holiday maker, there are many activities to take part in locally, including:

• lakes that many people use for swimming and recreation
• Walking in the sierra de Castril
• Climbing is a developing past time in Castril

There are also lots of local opportunities for rock climbing, cycling, mountain biking, canyoning and caving.
